We Are Always Looking For Ways To Improve Our Lifestyle, To Be Healthier, Happier; Simply Better Versions Of Ourselves.
We want to live a life of meaning and not have to stress so much about the little things.
Here Are My 5 Weekly Tips To Help You Balance And Improve Your Lifestyle.
Switch Off Your Brain (Your Phone) One Evening A Week.
Separation from your phone will allow you to separate from your thoughts. We spend so much time analysing other peoples lives through social media that we quickly become so critical of ourselves and lifestyle choices. We begin to have thoughts like “Oh I shouldn’t have had that extra slice of pizza over lunch” or “I knew that doughnut was a bad idea”
No! Eat the doughnut! Have 5 if you really want to.
Social media is both a blessing and a curse, it’s great for networking and business and social growth but when it comes to this idea of how our bodies should look or what we should be doing with our lives, are we doing enough? are we not doing enough, it can begin to really drain the soul. My advice is to turn off your phone at least one evening a week, no emails, no calls, no Instagram or Facebook, just you and whatever else surrounds you; family, catch ups with a friend, that book you’ve been putting off reading for weeks. Take a little you time!
Spend More Time Reading Books And Articles That Lead To Positive Change.
Not a lot of people are huge admires of reading but I find it really beneficial to read as many books or articles as possible on things like spirituality, healing, growth, time management, motivation, habit change etc. You will find that the more knowledge about these subjects you acquire, it will lead to a healthier and happier lifestyle.
Take 10 Minutes Of Your Morning To Write Down 5 Things You Are Grateful For.
Gratitude plays a big part of our lifestyle, whether we’re aware of this or not. Once I began to practise gratitude every day my life changed massively.
Each morning when you wake up, take 10 minutes out of your day to really think about the things in your life that you are grateful for, when you begin to count your blessings instead of naming your troubles, you will find the most miraculous things can occur and you will instantly start to feel happier about yourself and your life.
Call Somebody You Love At Least Once A Week.
One of the things that get’s me through most days is talking to my friends or family. I moved away from my hometown over 4 years ago so I find comfort knowing I can still reach out to them anytime I want.
I always feel much better after a long phone call, talking about my day, old memories, new goals or projects I am working on.
Calling someone you love could make a massive difference, not just to your life but to theirs. life is too short to regret not picking up the phone. Call somebody you love at least once a week and that can become one of the things you list on your gratitude list. ‘Having people in your life you can count on at all times.’
Exercise As Much As You Can.
Exercising daily has proven to release endorphins which make us happier, therefore it is crucial to try and actively stimulate the body as well as the mind. Yoga has proven to be an excellent form of exercise for both of these things!
You could also do things like jogging, swimming, some light callisthenics to get you started. Try it today and make it your new weekly habit to release as many happy endorphins as you can. (then you can eat as many doughnuts as you like without judging yourself later, see…it’s all about balance)
